I'm Afraid

May 15, 2018 Mia Sutton
I'm afraid - a poem about the irrational fears of love. mia-sutton.com/blog

I'm afraid of the love I have for you
I'm afraid no words will ever do it justice
I'm afraid I can never explain
I'm afraid of your smile that guts me
I'm afraid of your embrace that I crave
I'm afraid of your heart and all that it holds
I'm afraid of never seeing you again
I'm afraid our luck will run out
I'm afraid there will be nothing left
I'm afraid that I'll be alone
I'm afraid of the dark hole that will remain
I'm afraid of the memories that will replay
I'm afraid of the smell of comfort removed
I'm afraid of the silence in the room
I'm afraid that this nightmare will come true
I'm afraid there is no me without you
