Unforgiven

You’re so helpless
I’m sorry for it all
It wasn’t your fault
I didn’t think it was mine
But I was so careless
I thought I could keep my heart safe
It betrayed me at the first sign
The busy room
The long, lonely walk
The sounds of despair
I didn’t think I could do it
But I did
And again
A relief
And a curse
The only options in my arsenal
I will see you again
And ease the wonder and pain
